New book and new patterns.
Long-time embroiderer and creator of Muhu patterns, Leida Kirst, still carries in her soul the juniper pastures of Muhu from her childhood, from where simple wildflowers also fill the pages of this book.
The book is like a visit to Leida's house - the master greets us kindly at the door, talks about her life, opens the door to her embroidery closet, and shares useful advice. And when you leave, she gives you patterns to take home with you.
In the book you will find:
– 153 Muhu patterns that the master created for this book in the winter of 2010
– 3 double-sided pattern sheets that you can use to create large embroidery designs
– 41 scanned and photographed embroideries that are good to take as examples when embroidering
– 7 step-by-step embroidery tutorials illustrated with photos
– Plus comments and tips for embroidering Muhu embroidery.
You can use the patterns to decorate t-shirts, dresses, sweaters, folk costume skirts, bags, Muhu bätts, or any other items.
This is a unique opportunity to take a walk through the fields and pastures of Igaküla. Feel the beauty of nature and carry it within you.
The book also includes an online supplement. Read more HERE

Hello!
It is a grateful activity that mainlanders can also contribute to the preservation of the island's floral embroidery. Every message and pattern is a true gem to me.
The book is simply superb! Its size and cover image already made my eyes sparkle.. so what else can I expect from the content? The desire to embroider is huge, the beginning has already been made. 😀
I have a question that may be a bit silly, but is important to me. Where and when should I use single and double yarn?
In advance,
Anneli
When choosing yarn, consider that single yarn will give a denser and more detailed result. Double yarn will be fluffier and the work will be finished faster :). The choice of yarn will become clear through testing and trying. Good luck.
Hello!
Some people sleep with their Bible on their dresser, but I have a book called Muhu Embroidery, where I find beautiful compositions and genuine floral embroidery. It would still be 32 hours a day to fit a 4th shift into a workday!
Sunshine!

Thank you all for the wonderful emotions. We are very happy that the book offers sincere emotions to many and directs people to new manual activities:) Be good. Let your creativity and skills fly freely.
I would like to thank the author for taking the time to make the book. The book is a real asset. I bought it myself because I can use all kinds of floral motifs from it and I hope it will also spark my daughter's interest in crafts. All the best to you! Kai
A big bow to the creators of the book and those who put in a lot of effort! We enjoy the fruits of your labor and leave you with your fingers crossed.
My deepest respect to the author of the book, my former teacher Leida Kirstule! Thanks to him, I know how to embroider floral embroidery and now I teach it to students at school. I wish the author of the book long life and health for many more years!
Thank you Helme,
The author has received the greetings and also sends warm greetings from Igaküla. Keep up the good work and keep teaching.
very good book! I've read it from cover to cover several times and thought it was beautiful!
I also have a question: where can I get fine wool yarn? I only have black wool yarn.

Hello Kaija,
You can get the necessary yarns from this address, for example. http://www.laat.ee/?page=tooted&cat=288&kaupmees=0&id=1111§ion=tooted
Success in crafting
Thank you to the compilers and publishers of the book. Now there are no more problems with finding the right yarns. I put the yarns on the picture in the book and choose the right shades. The book has very good printing quality.
Gorgeous patterns and beautiful embroidery. Thank you to the creator.
Thank you, Ulla.
It's good to hear that the book is also a great help in finding the right yarns :)
