muhu tikand, muhu tikandi kursus, õpi muhu tikandit, muhu kultuur, muhu pärandOur website is designed with the intention that all the patterns we publish are accessible to people who are engaged in handicrafts. This includes patterns that are available in pdf format for saving and printing at home without restrictions. In addition, all current and future galleries of embroidery are helpful and inspiring material for embroidery. We have added here some questions that may arise when doing handicrafts.

Can I make exactly similar embroidery?

YES, that's what they were published for.

Who is the author if I have made embroidery with a pattern from muhutikand.ee?

The author is the embroidery artist. Patterns and galleries are only a tool to help create the composition.

Do I have to mention on my blog/homepage that I used a pattern found on muhutikand.ee as the original source?

No need. The materials from the pattern pages and website are a helpful tool for you. The embroiderer remains the author. You can proudly present your work on your blog/website or at exhibitions.

Can I forward PDF patterns to my friends and acquaintances?

Yes, you can. The best option is to refer a friend to join yourself. Then your friend will automatically be on the list of notifications for new free patterns.

If I have combined different patterns to create my own, do I have to cite the original source?

No need.

Can I embroider an exact copy of an embroidery I found in a gallery? And in that case, who is the author?

Yes, you can. The embroiderer remains the author.

Can I embroider in peace and not have to worry that I forgot to cite the original source?

You don't have to worry, embroidery should be relaxing and fun. You don't have to cite the original source for your work. Forgetting to cite can only deprive your blog/website visitors of a great opportunity to make something themselves.

Can I save images of finished embroidery from the muhutikand.ee galleries to my computer and print them?

Yes, you can, if you use it for your own work. When doing this, keep in mind that if you plan to republish them somewhere online later, no one will be able to identify the author without citing the original source.

Can I use patterns from muhutikand.ee for the purpose of making and selling crafts?

Yes, you can. If you have made a nice handmade craft and want to sell it, that is allowed.

Do I need to coordinate the activity if I want to use patterns and embroidery for printing on different products?

Yes, this is the only point we want to control. Everything that is done mechanically and for commercial purposes needs to be coordinated with us (machine embroidery, printing on products, production of various publications, etc.). If you have an idea, be sure to contact us and together we will find a suitable solution.

Does muhutikand.ee publish all the work of Muhu craft masters?

No. We are committed to digitizing and publishing Leida Kirst's life's work. A gallery of user-submitted works is also being prepared. If you have made something great, feel free to share it with others. We are always willing to share and present everything great that is related to Muhumaa and Muhu embroidery.

Who is involved in publishing and developing the muhutikand.ee website?

Our small group consists of Leida's loved ones. We publish and develop it out of a sincere desire to help craftsmen who are interested in Muhu patterns. Our biggest goal is to offer Muhu patterns for the development of all manual activities. Be open to inspiration and develop your skills. We want our website to offer you the greatest value and pleasantly fill your quality time. All your suggestions and wishes are very welcome. Maybe you have a great idea that we could technically implement and share with others. Write to us!
