Initially, we had the idea of taking pictures or scanning all the patterns separately and making them public on the internet. While experimenting, we came to the realization that such quality did not satisfy us. Most of the patterns and compositions have been working tools for our master and their originality would remain incorrect when printed from the internet.
So we decided that all drawer patterns will initially be restored manually and only then will they be digitized. We also use photo editing software to help us make the digitized patterns and compositions higher quality and cleaner for printing. The restoration work is done manually using a glass table, a dark night, and a light.
The only thing we didn't expect with all the work we started was that there would suddenly be so many patterns appearing in our cabinets and drawers. Making choices from them will probably prove to be very difficult.
How to arrange Muhu patterns in the future in such a way that everyone can find something suitable for themselves. And no one will be able to avoid choosing, as there are currently about 400 patterns. Looking at the quantities, we can assume a much larger number. The patterns have been planned for all possible places, wherever they might fit.
All digital patterns will be in a secure and safe place Folderburg on the server. This digital fortress also provides a copy of all patterns in case something happens to the originals. We want to make sure that all digitization is protected and backups are guaranteed.
Among the patterns are also very old and faded patterns from the years 1950-1975, and they will also be exhibited as originals in a separate gallery. Follow the updates.
To give you an idea of the excitement of our work, we have included a small series of photos that give you an idea of what the embroidery tools look like, with which so many embroideries are decorated. The photos show the patterns that are currently being restored.
